SUMMARY

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for meeting company operational performance matrix and ensuring that all customer expectations are met.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Responsible for daily meeting with PM Operations Supervisor and Lead Operations supervisor. Review shift report activity.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting all line-hauls. (Hourly report for each line-haul).
  • Responsible for GPS tracking, communicating with drivers at designated times and locations.
  • Responsible for preparing and organizing air routes.
  • Responsible for preparing and organizing rural routes.
  • Responsible for preparing and organizing metro routes.
  • Responsible for receiving, sort and scan inbound Walgreens truck. (1:00 AM arrival)
  • Responsible for loading AutoZone from Chappell to Jefferson
  • Responsible for receiving Kroger shipment – Tuesday & Friday.
  • Responsible for report and communicate line-haul arrival times with Coordinators.
  • Responsible for confirm staffing for routes.
  • Responsible for issuing equipment for routes until coordinator arrives.
  • Responsible for supervising coordinators activity, sort, scan, load out.
  • Responsible for supervise outbound dispatch times of routes.
  • Responsible for resolving driver overtime.
  • Responsible for verify all inbound and outbound freight are captured in our operating system.
  • Responsible for complying too regulatory compliance. (Ground and air)
  • Responsible for meeting customer expectations for inbound air freight – on time performance and scanning.
  • Responsible for monitoring outbound air charter and commercial air shipments.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises staff members including warehouse personnel, and couriers. Responsible for preparing and conducting employee performance reviews per the Company’s Employee Performance Review monthly and quarterly schedule.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Required to hold a valid driver’s license for the state designated by the Company. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have in-depth

knowledge of the geographical territory that the position oversees.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak

effectively before groups.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized

situations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Supervisor must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly. Supervisor must have the ability to drive delivery vehicles up to 24’ box trucks.  Supervisor must be fork

lift certified.

Additional Information

DMC pays 65% of employee cost for medical only. You will be eligible for the company’s 401(k) plan during the next semi-annual enrollment period following the completion of one (1) year of continuous service. DMC will match 100% of the first 3% and 50% of the next 2%.

Must be able to pass a 7 year back ground check and a pre-employment drug test. DMC is a drug free environment.
